Well, the company has already removed the regular USB port on last year’s 12-inch MacBook, replacing it with just a single USB Type-C port. A Japanese website that was among the first to predict the absence of an audio jack on the iPhone 7 published an article
claiming that Apple might get rid of the USB port on its upcoming MacBook Pro.
The website also predicts that Apple will remove the traditional 3.5mm audio jack as seen on the iPhone 7. MagSafe 2 and Thunderbolt 2 ports may also disappear in favor of a new Thunderbolt 3 port.
It is also reported that the new MacBook Pro will come in 15.4-inch and 13.3-inch models. A 13.3-inch MacBook Air too will be likely released and Apple may no longer have an 11-inch model.
To survive these radical changes, you either have to pay heavily for extensions, accessories and adapters to continue using your regular USB devices. The other option is simply holding on to your 2015 Model MacBook Pro for as long as you can.
